90th Academy Awards, 2018 – The Complete List Of Winners In All 24 Categories
MOVIE – we watch and enjoy it for two hours and usually forget about it later. But there are some movies that compel us to watch again and again. There are some actors who stay in our thoughts for the pretty long time thereafter. There are some visuals that kind of seem the 8th wonder. And there are many aspects of a movie that sometimes leave a long lasting impression on us. To honor such fantastic films and creative artists, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science started giving awards in 1929, what we call Oscars in short. The glamorous show has come a long way to celebrate its 90th edition on 4th March 2018 and here we got the complete list of winners for you.
Writing (Original Screenplay)
Hollywood is known for films that eat up and bring in hundreds of millions for the makers. That’s true! If you call a million dollar profit a profit, what would you call 250 million on just 4.5 million? If there is a movie with fifty times more profit, well, that’s nothing but Jordan Peele’s Get Out. Not only at the box-office, the film also shone at the Oscars too and won the award for Achievement in Writing Original Screenplay. The director cum screenplay writer, Jordan Peele, created history in the Oscars for being the first ever Black filmmaker to win a nomination in the Big Three i.e., producing, writing and, directing. He won the award only for writing, though.
Writing (Adapted Screenplay)
Winning the Academy Award for the adapted screenplay for Call Me by Your Name, James Ivory set a record as the oldest man ever to win an Oscar. At an age of 89, the director-producer-writer won the Oscar for his work for Luca Guadagnino’s film Call Me by Your Name, an adaptation to André Aciman’s novel of the same name.
